Music Ministry

Mission

The Mission of the Music Ministry at St. Frances Cabrini is to support the Liturgy with music and song, both ancient and modern, and to bring all who come to worship closer to the Lord through the beauty of music in the Mass and other liturgies.

There are a number of choral groups in which volunteers support the singing, including smaller ensembles, a larger choir, and cantors. A handbell choir also plays throughout the year, as well as other instrumentalists.

The Mass schedule is as follows:

Saturday

4:15pm—Family Choir (Adults & Children)

Sunday

7:15am–Cantors and a monthly Chant Choir

9:15am–Cabrini SATB Choir

11:15pm–A Vocal Trio and Contemporary Guitar groups

5:15pm–LifeTeen Band

The Handbell Choir plays for major Feasts including Christmas, Easter and Pentecost.

At this time we are accepting new members in the 4:15pm, 9:15am and handbell choirs, as well as new cantors. If you have an interest in participating in the Cabrini Music Ministry please contact our Director of Music, Mary Reinker, at mreinker@sfcparish.org to arrange an audition.

“Sing to the Lord a new song.” (Ps. 96)

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Bishops, priests and deacons distribute Holy Communion in virtue of their office as ordinary ministers of the Body and Blood of the Lord. When the size of the congregation or the incapacity of the bishop, priest, or deacon requires it, the celebrant may be assisted by other bishops, priests, or deacons. If such ordinary ministers of Holy Communion are not present, the priest may call upon extraordinary ministers to assist him, i.e., duly instituted acolytes or even other faithful who have been deputed for this purpose. Our extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion serve on a rotating basis. If feel the Lord is calling you to this ministry, please contact Deacon Chet Ubowski at dcnchet@sfcparish.org or (303) 953-7783.

Lectors

The lector is instituted to proclaim the readings from Sacred Scripture, with the exception of the Gospel. In the absence of an instituted lector, other lay people may be deputed to proclaim the readings from Sacred Scripture, people who are truly suited to carrying out this function and carefully prepared, so that by their hearing the readings from the sacred texts the faithful may conceive in their hearts a sweet and living affection for Sacred Scripture. For more information about becoming a lector, please contact Deacon Marc Nestorick at deacon.nestorickm@archden.org.

Ushers

Every liturgical ministry is established to serve the worshiping assembly. All those who serve in special roles are servants of the assembly; their task is to help the assembly fulfill its vital role in the liturgy. The most important role that the usher serves is that of hospitality as the usher is the first person that worshipers meet when they arrive at church. If you have the gift of hospitality and would like to serve as an usher, please contact Deacon Chet Ubowski at dcnchet@sfcparish.org or (303) 953-7783.

Altar Serving

Altar Serving is a beautiful and intimate way to assist the priest and deacon in the celebration of the Mass and other liturgies. We invite students in grades 4-12 to become an Altar Server. If you are interested in altar serving, please email Deacon Marc Nestorick at deacon.nestorickm@archden.org.

Training for Current and New Altar Servers

We will be holding periodic training classes for new or current Altar Servers.  For the upcoming scheduled training dates and times, please contact Deacon Marc at deacon.nestorickm@archden.org.

Art and Environment Ministry

Our Art and Environment Ministry plans and changes the various decorations in the worship space according to the Liturgical Seasons, including the live plant care. If you have interest in serving on the Art and Environment team, please contact Deacon Chet by phone at (303) 979-7688 or by email at dcnchet@sfcparish.org.
