An Evening with Sr. Helen Prejean
On Monday, April 11th, at 7pm Sister Helen Prejean will join us to share her knowledge on the death penalty and her experience counseling individual death row prisoners. If you are not familiar with Sister Prejean, she is a leading American advocate for the abolition of the death penalty. The movie, "Dead Man Walking" portrayed her journey as a nun who befriended a convicted murderer on death row.
It will be an informative and thought-provoking evening with this entertaining speaker. Sr. Prejean has been instrumental in sparking national dialogue on the death penalty and helping to share the Catholic Church’s newly vigorous opposition to state executions. She travels around the world giving talks about her ministry and she considers herself a southern storyteller. All are welcome and admission is free.
Sister Prejean will bring her books, Dead Man Walking and Death of Innocents for purchase and a book signing. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Karen L. firstname.lastname@example.org
